The Free State of Bavaria awards one-year scholarships to higher education institution graduates from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine for postgraduate studies in Bavaria.
Applicants are in charge of finding a host university in Bavaria relevant to their field of study.
Scholarships provided by the Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency (BTHA) for university students and graduates are intended to finance a follow-up master's or doctoral studies or a longer study stay at a Bavarian public university. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and can be extended twice subsequently on application (for a total duration of three years).
Scholarship applications are submitted directly to the BTHA online via StipSys –for details and link see the BTHA instruction manual for applicants. The applicatiopn deadline is December 1st.

Applicants who want to claim reimbursement of their travel costs at their home university (return trip from Czechia to Bavaria) must also submit an online application for the Czech partner through this portal (no additional documents are required).
The scholarships are funded by the Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency (BTHA).
