The Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art (StMUK) offers observation internship stays at schools in the Free State of Bavaria, Germany. The stays are intended for German language teachers, and for teachers of other subjects with proficiency in German, teachers employed any type of primary, secondary, or higher vocational school in Czechia are elegible.

The stays take place at public schools and vocational schools in Bavaria. Applicants who already have a partnership with a host school in Bavaria can indicate this preference on the organiser's application form. The placement of the participant at a particular host school is decided by the StMUK. The host institutions are selected from among the schools participating in the programme. The assigned the host schools cannot be changed.

The duration of the stay is 2 weeks. The stay must be completed by the end of the respective calendar year. The specific date, content, and conditions of the stay are to be arranged individually between the participant and the management of the host school. When planning the stay, we recommend considering the school year schedule for Bavaria. Please note, that teachers from Czechia often favor planning their stay for July when the school year in Bavaria is still ongoing.

The participant will receive a subsidy in the form of a lump sum of EUR 375 to partially cover the costs of the stay. The subsidy will be paid to the participant at the start of the stay by the host school. The participation allowance is funded by the StMUK.

Travel and subsistence costs are to be covered by the participants themselves. It is recommended to purchase commercial insurance for the entire duration of the stay (insurance is not provided by the Bavarian partner).
