The offer of research and lecture stays in Slovakia for academic staff of universities in Czechia is based on contractual obligations between the Czechia and the partner country. Applicants are responsible for finding a host university in Slovakia in their field of study. Applications are submitted to the Czech partner – the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MoEYS). Applicants need to submit both, an online application through this portal (Studujnavs.gov.cz), and simmultaneously a paper application form with the required attachments, as per the Slovak parner requirements. Both need to be submitted by the deadline below. MoEYS will confirm the applicants nomination for the scholarship. A prerequisit for the scholarship to be awarded to the nominee is an Acceptance Letter issued by the Slovak host uiversity. The final decision on the scholarship award belongs to the foreign partner; the results are usually communicated by the end of March.

Visiting academics and researchers do not receive a scholarship, however, the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic funds their accommodation, meals and allowance.

As per the requirements of the foreign partner, the form "Application for granting a scholarship for Study/Research Stay in Slovakia in the framework of international agreements and programmes" together with the attachments listed therein must be submitted in the form of physical documents in two sets. The documents should be delivered to the address: Akademická informační agentura, Dům zahraniční spolupráce, Na Poříčí 1035/4, 110 00 Praha 1. If delivered by post, the package must be sent by the date of the application deadline. The application can also be delivered in person to the mailroom of the DZS, for information on office hours, please check the DZS website.
